Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts University in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is accepting applications for a temporary position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The candidate will be responsible for contributing to various aspects of the University, including athletic training duties for coverage of varsity and junior varsity teams as assigned, contributing to the positive educational experience of students, as well as adhere to the institutions core values of Faith, Quality, Respect, Stewardship and Learning. This is a 12 week temporary position beginning January 2, 2018 and ending March 28, 2018.

Job responsibilities include:
-Provide sports medicine coverage for one or more of Midland Universities 27 intercollegiate athletic teams
-Tend to the healthcare needs of over 750 student athletes including injury prevention and care, injury assessment and evaluation, referral to proper medical   authorities, prescribing appropriate treatment and rehabilitation strategies and protocols
-Travel obligations with teams 
-Teaching obligations

Need to have:
-A Master's degree from an accredited athletic training education program
-BOC certified.
-CPR, AED, First Aid Certified, American Red Cross Instructor Certification or eligible.
-Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Athletic Training License or eligible
-Good organizational and time management skills, good interpersonal communication skills and basic computer skills and working understanding of Microsoft Word   and Excel
-Knowledge of Injury Tracking Software and Electronic Medical Records software.
-Excellent Injury assessment/evaluation and rehabilitation skills,

Demonstrated Ability to:
-Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, coaches, student athletes, physicians, and other allied health personnel.
-Possess problem solving and critical thinking skills, innovation and creativity, adaptability,initiative and stress tolerance to various situations.
-Resolve issues independently within a Sports Medicine Team environment.
-Communicate effectively with a variety of professionals at all levels.
