SUMMARY:Camp Fontanelle Annual BBQ & Quilt Auction
DESCRIPTION:What can be better than homemade rolls\, pulled pork AND a quilt auction? Spending the day at Camp Fontanelle\, where there will be those things and so much more. \n\n\n\nOn Sunday\, September 18th Camp Fontanelle will open its "doors" for an open house and homecoming for camp supporters and the general public. Camp Fontanelle is a camp of the United Methodist Church and holds an annual BBQ and Quilt Auction as a fundraiser for its camping ministry. The day also serves as a day in which visitors can come out to see what the camp has to offer in activities and services.\n\nThe day will begin with a worship service at 11 a.m. Meals will be served from 12-3 p.m. at two locations at the camp. Other food will include homemade Pigs in a Blanket\, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and grilled chicken. As this is the opening day for the corn maze and pumpkin patch\, there will also be concessions available up at the corn maze location beginning at 1 p.m.\n\n\n\nAs part of the fundraiser\, there will be a silent auction and a live quilt auction. The goal set by the site council is to raise $40\,000.00 for the day. This will be done by freewill donations for meals\, auction items and donations made in designated areas throughout the camp. All money received will be put back into supporting the summer camping ministry.\n\nOther activities for the day will include face painting\, tree climbing\, puppet shows at the 7:24 Shelter\, Bounce Houses and all of the activities up at the corn maze area. Highlight activities at the corn maze include ziplining\, laser tag and pony rides. There is a fee for those activities as well as entrance to the corn maze and Jumping Pillows.\n\n\n\nThis summer\, there were almost 700 campers\, attending 17 different camping sessions at Camp Fontanelle. The September 18th event is the only organized fundraiser for the camp and helps to create new and exciting activities for summer campers and guests to the camp. LOCATION:Camp Fontanelle is located 2 miles south of Highway 91\, just east of the Elkhorn River. Look for the camp sign at the entrance to the community of Fontanelle (Washington County). Turn into Fontanelle and drive south\, 8th Street changes to County Road 3 at the south end of Fontanelle
