Title: Senior Accountant

Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Controller with daily, weekly and monthly procedures, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger.

Primary Duties:

  • Monitor and reconcile cash activity daily
  • Record vehicle sale transactions, ensuring proper account coding
  • Process parts and service transactions as necessary
  • Ongoing review of accounts receivable (trade, factory rebates and lender reserves), inventory and payable schedules, investigating and following up on variances and overdue balances
  • Reconcile vendor statements prior to issuance of payment
  • Assist with periodic vehicle and parts inventory counts, including reconciling variances
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including intercompany balances
  • Record journal entries as necessary
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements, according to dealership and manufacturer format and guidelines
  • Compile information and reports as requested by management
  • Assist and work with external CPA firm for annual review and income tax preparation
  • Assist with vehicle titling responsibilities as needed
  • Assist with front desk responsibilities including answering phones
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-year Accounting Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting position
  • Knowledge of common accounting practices and procedures (ex. month-end close), including solid understanding of GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay is based on experience. This full time position is eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision coverage, 401k and paid vacation time.
