Please help welcome home soldiers from the 394th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion! They are returning from their 10-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
A Welcome Home Warrior ceremony for the Fremont-based Army Reserve unit will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Swanson Hall of Science building at Midland University, 900 N. Clarkson St.
The event is open to the public.
The Welcome Home Warrior Citizen Award is designed to acknowledge Army Reserve soldiers for their selfless service and sacrifice in support of overseas contingency operations.
The 394th CSSB deployed to Camp Speicher, Iraq, in July 2010.
Approximately 75 personnel from the unit will be recognized during the ceremony.
The 394th played a key role in the withdrawal of U.S. forces out of Iraq, fixing vehicles and assets used to move cargo, and moving thousands of vehicles out of Iraq as part of the planned drawdown of forces.
