Challenge yourself with the scenic 'toughest 5k in Nebraska' or enjoy the 1 mile scenic hike to Christmas Tree Hill. Open to all ages, this one of a kind run offers the beauty offered by the 180 acres of trails of Camp Fontanelle's Elkhorn River bluffs. Download a registration form online under the 'News' link. Register by October 18 and receive a t-shirt. All 5k runners will be eligible for awards to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each age category. A trophy will also be given for top male and female runners. All kids walking the 1 mile walk will be given a participation medal. All participants are encouraged to dress in costume. Awards will be given for best costumes. 'Shortcuts' involving natural obstacles (trees, ditches, nettles) add a decision making twist as you decide whether to take the occasional shorter, seldom travelled wilderness 'shortcuts' or stay on the longer groomed trail course. The entire race is run on Camp Fontanelle trails which are mowed/maintained at about 5' wide most places though there are some steeper grades where speed will need to be adjusted. Enjoy a spaghetti meal after the race in our 40' x 80' tent while awards are announced. Following supper, feel free to join in a worship service at a site TBA. Showers are available for those wishing to clean up and stay for the evening activities.
Bring the whole family. Extra meals for nonparticipants will be $5/plate. Enjoy Camp Fontanelle's short maze normally taking about 10 minutes to complete using a map or long maze which takes closer to an hour. Cost is $4 for kids ages 3-11 and $6 for ages 12 and up. Also enjoy Camp Fontanelle's NEW 31' x 65' jumping pillow, petting barn, free campfires, hayrack tours, trikes for tykes, pony rides ($2 per ride from 2 pm to 6 pm), laser tag in the corn ($3/10 minute game from 2 pm to 6 pm using our state of the art laser taggers which work great during the day), free will donation pumpkins, $1 concessions, inflatable castle, and sand box. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the memories at this traditional fall event.
Regular maze hours are 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays from the 3rd Sunday in September through Halloween. Groups of 10 or more are welcome to make reservations on weekdays and outside regular hours by contacting Camp Fontanelle or through the 'Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze' link on the home page. Great for family friendly company events, birthday parties, and other kid/youth/adult events. Also ask about lodging/meals, tree climbing, laser tag, and jumping pillow opportunities all year long at Camp Fontanelle.
A free movie will be shown at the petting barn starting at about 6:45 PM. Enjoy an outdoor movie while sitting around a warm campfire. Use our wood stump/benches or bring your own comfy lawn chair or blanket. The haunted maze will run from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There is no additional cost to do the haunted maze if you purchased a ticket earlier in the day. Keep those wristbands on!
Camp Fontanelle's primary purpose and mission is to create 'intentional Christian community' through events like this and through summer camps for ages 4-18 year old as our primary focus each summer. These camps are open to the public and attended by kids of all faith backgrounds. Kids preschool to 2nd grade attend with a trusted adult. To learn more about camps, contact Trent Meyer. The corn maze and pumpkin patch is used as a fundraiser to help offset the cost of summer camp as Camp Fontanelle believes in the faith building assets of a week at camp for kids Thank you for your support!
