Learn about HORSES at the HETRA Summer Camp!
Learn what it takes to keep a horse healthy, happy and strong at the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA) facilities. HETRA camp is staffed with HETRA Instructors and trained HETRA volunteers. Focus of the camp will be on the ground activities of grooming, haltering, leading, horse care including horse safety, parts of the horse and saddles, and how to feed horses. The Advanced Riding camp will offer a higher level of instruction. Each week will wrap up with a horse show where families and friends are invited to watch a HETRA Horse Show, complete with trophies for all. Camp is open to all ages of HETRA students, individuals with disabilities, and the general public. Participants can attend for the full week or can participate in selected days.
