About Us

The current Sheriff of Dodge County is Dustin Weitzel. Sheriff Weitzel was elected to office in January of 2023.
The Sheriff’s Office is responsible to patrol 543 square miles.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is also responsible for title inspections, sex offender registrations, civil process within the county and issuing handgun purchase permits.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is made up of 24 sworn officers and four office staff members.

Sheriff Weitzel is also the jail administrator for the Dodge County Jail. The jail is classified as a 24-hour holding facility. Inmates incarcerated over 24 hours are taken to the Saunders County Corrections facility in Wahoo, NE.

The jail staff consists of 14 full-time corrections officers and reserve officers.
