Job Description:

Midland University is looking for a skilled and passionate Pizza Cook to join our dining services team. The Pizza Cook will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality pizzas, ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen, and upholding food safety standards. This role is ideal for someone with a love for crafting pizzas and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and menu offerings, including classic and specialty pizzas.
• Roll, stretch, and toss dough to achieve the perfect pizza crust.
• Ensure pizza ingredients (sauce, toppings, cheese, etc.) are fresh, well-prepared, and stocked.
• Monitor and adjust cooking times and temperatures to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.
• Maintain a clean and organized pizza prep area, including regular cleaning of the pizza oven and work surfaces.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Monitor inventory and report any shortages of pizza ingredients to management.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and timely delivery of pizzas.
• Assist with food prep for other menu items as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Pizza Cook or in a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and consistently prepare pizzas to a high standard.
• Knowledge of dough preparation, pizza ovens, and various pizza styles (New York, Neapolitan, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Positive attitude and a passion for making great pizzas.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, no weekends required.
